Our Story

The leaders of The Village Church Northway (now Northway Church) felt a growing conviction to see the gospel go forth in DFW and beyond by planting churches near and far. This now includes a church in East Dallas, where hundreds of individuals and families from The Village Northway already resided.

For several years, while Adam Griffin was leading as an elder and executive team member of The Village Church, God was preparing the way for Adam to lead a local church on the side of town where he lives. As a pastor and long-time resident of East Dallas, Adam’s passion to be a part of the reconciling work of God in Dallas grew in him a burden to see the gospel invade this beautiful, influential community that so desperately needs the Lord.

In late 2017 and early 2018, as the Griffins began to share the possibility of a new local church with their friends and others residing in East Dallas, it became clear that God had given this same desire and vision for a new local church with many, many others as well. Eastside Community Church started with a generous and gifted launch team of over 500 men, women, and children as well as 3 full time and 3 part time staff all eager to love one God, love all people, and make disciples everywhere together. Eastside officially launched on October 7th, 2018 in the auditorium of Conrad High School in the Vickery Meadow neighborhood of East Dallas.
